An injury update on Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, whether he will play against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League?
The Dutch international has been battling with an ankle problem of late. He came off during the Merseyside derby on 12th February and was an absentee for the Reds’ next two matches.
Since then, he has made two substitute appearances, against Manchester City and subsequently against Newcastle United.
A fresh update has been provided concerning Gakpo before the match with PSG at the Parc des Princes in the UCL.
Gakpo has played an influential role in Slot’s team this season, finding the back of the net 16 times and giving 5 assists as well in as many appearances for the Reds this season.

Cody Gakpo Injury Update
Gakpo was missing from training on Tuesday, before the match with PSG in the UCL Round of 16. The Liverpool No. 18, however, is a part of the traveling squad to France to face the Parisian outfit.
AnythingLFC in a post on social media platform, X, stated “Cody Gakpo missing from training today ahead of Liverpool’s game vs Paris Saint-Germain.”
The news of Gakpo missing out on training was confirmed by the club, with Arne Slot expected to speak on the forward’s situation at his pre-match press conference.
Gakpo, to the delight of fans is a part of the team that makes the trip to face Ligue 1 table topping side, PSG. The team from Merseyside do have a near complete squad, with the only missing players from the first team being Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton.
It is still unconfirmed whether the talented winger will participate in the first leg against PSG in Paris at the Parc des Princes.
Should Gakpo play in the game in France, he will prove to be a valuable asset, as he has been for most of the campaign in Arne Slot’s squad.
Liverpool’s squad for the match against PSG includes Alisson, Mo Salah, captain Virgil van Dijk, and a host of other key players looking to play their parts in taking a positive result back to the second leg at Anfield next week.
