How much will Mohamed Salah cost in FPL this season?

Liverpool’s star forward Mohamed Salah is oozing confidence ahead of the new Premier League season. And he has got a message for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers:

“Hopefully! Probably yes. It’s guaranteed points, so it’s an easy pick!”

Salah’s self-assuredness is not just talk. He is fresh off a strong pre-season, looking sharper than ever with a brand-new hairstyle. The Egyptian King has long been a favourite among FPL players, and his track record speaks for itself.

Ahead of the new campaign kicking off, he was asked by the Premier League’s official website last year why FPL managers should select him. And Salah did not mince words:

“Because I get the most points almost every season! It’s true!”

And true to his words, he delivered, bagging 25 goals in all competitions under Jurgen Klopp, 18 of which came in the Premier League. Only six players — Ollie Watkins, Phil Foden, Dominik Solanke, Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, and Erling Haaland — outscored him in FPL points last season. Without any doubt Salah remains a top-tier asset.

Salah Costs High in FPL

Salah is set to cost £12.5m in the game, which makes him one of the most expensive players in the game. But Salah is not unfazed.

“That’s not bad. It’s quite a lot but it’s not bad. I don’t mind it but I think you can reduce it so everybody can get me! I don’t want to be the highest price and then no one can get you.”

The fact is, Salah is as close to a sure thing as you can get in FPL. He is consistently among the top scorers. And with Liverpool’s attacking options looking as potent as ever, he is poised for another prolific season.

With his pre-season performance as an indicator, Salah will be near the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts once again. Off the pitch, Liverpool’s new sporting director Richard Hughes will be busy tying down Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold to new deals as the transfer window draws to a close.

So, will you keep Salah in you FPL team this season?
