Liverpool are ready to take on Newcastle United at Anfield in the midweek clash. These two have already played out one of the games of the season at St James’ Park earlier in the campaign. So, we all can expect something like that again at Anfield when these two will meet on Thursday.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot could make some minimal changes in the starting lineup for the Newcastle United match this weekend.
Recently Liverpool defeated Manchester City at the weekend at Etihad. Slot might continue with the same team while making some minor changes. Arne Slot has averaged just 1.3 changes to his starting lineup. And it would not be a surprise to see the same again on Wednesday.

Will Cody Gakpo start for Liverpool against Newcastle United?
Now the big question is whether Cody Gakpo will start the match for Liverpool against Newcastle United or if he still needs time to recover.
Arne Slot recently hinted that Diego Jota will be the preferable number nine once he is fully fit.
However, as the Portuguese is not fully fit the question remains who will take the number nine position for Liverpool against Newcastle United?
In that case, Cody Gakpo could start for the Reds in that match as he looked like he had completely recovered from the injury.
The backline of Liverpool will remain the same, along with the goalkeeper position. Both Gravenberch and Mac Allister could get their place for Liverpool against Newcastle United.
This could lead to the absence of Curtis Jones who was in the starting lineup against Manchester City. That’s because the forward line will be occupied by Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and one striker. That striker could be Cody Gakpo.
In December last year, these two Premier League clubs met at St James’ Park. That was a great game which ended in a 3-3 draw. Now, Liverpool will welcome Newcastle United at Anfield.
Liverpool’ Predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz.
