Liverpool players have returned from the first international break of the season and manager Arne Slot shared a moment with Trent Alexander-Arnold which might have cleared the doubts of them not liking each other.
The majority of the players have reported back after the international break and are set to face Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.
Arne Slot praises Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool media team shared a video on X showing the players returning back from their international duties. Liverpool manager Arne Slot was seen sharing a wholesome moment with Trent after his MOTM performances against Ireland and Finland. “Man of the Match two times” said the Dutchmen to Alexander-Arnold. Trent was seen having a huge smile on his face after this moment.
However this interaction between Arne Slot and Trent Alexander-Arnold should put away all the speculation surrounding Slot disliking the Liverpool vice-captain.
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes on the Overlap: “Do you think Slot likes him (Trent)? Watching that game on Sunday every time he gave the ball away, he’s shaking his head Slot. And I’m not sure he likes him.”
Fans on social media have used this video in response to Paul Scholes’s comment on the Overlap about Trent.
However Trent’s future at the club is still unclear, with no updates on his contract extension. Not only Trent, Van Dijk and Mo Salah have also entered the last year of their contract. The trio are already the highest earners at the club and any contract extension would require Liverpool to significantly change their wage structure.
Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Mo Salah were key players for Jurgen Klopp and are still key players for new manager Arne Slot.
