According to reports Mamardashvili from Valencia is on his way to Anfield and Liverpool are reportedly getting close to signing their first player under Arne Slot.
The 23-year-old is a tremendous talent according to former Liverpool and England midfielder Danny Murphy who applauded this selection and highlighted the players outstanding performances at Euro 2024.
Murphy thinks that because of Liverpool’s move the Reds are preparing for a time after Alisson Becker whose long-term future with the team is currently in doubt.
Arne Slot close in on a Liverpool signing
This potential acquisition comes as Liverpool moves through a transitional phase with several key players from Jurgen Klopp’s winning era possibly nearing the end of their Anfield careers.
Concerns concerning the teams future makeup are raised by the contracts of key players like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk which expire in the summer of 2020.
Mamardashvili’s arrival suggests that Liverpool wants to start a new chapter under Slot One one that will put team renewal ahead of the player rotation that will eventually leave the team.
Since the Reds are the only team in the Premier League without a new addition they are in desperate need of a signing right now.
However some are questioning if this is the right decision for the club.
