However, before the match, it is expected that the Blues will give a guard of honour to the Reds as this tradition has been followed long back, more specifically from 2003.
According to the Premier League, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United team are thought to be the first Premier League team that receive a guard of honour, at Goodison Park, back in May 2003.
As per the Premier League, there have been eleven seasons when a guard of honour has taken place in a row, with some champions enjoying the accolade on multiple occasions, including Manchester City.

What did Enzo Maresca say about giving a guard of honour to Liverpool?
So, it is a tradition, and Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca knows it very well. While answering the question of whether Chelsea will show the guard of honour to Liverpool, the Italian manager said,
“Yes. It’s tradition. We have to do that, and we are going to do that. They won the Premier League, so they deserve it.”
This is the second Premier League title for Liverpool in the last five years and the 20th in total. The Reds joined hands with Manchester City to win most Premier League title.
