Alexander Isak transfer update

Newcastle United’s summer tour in South Korea may be about preparation, but the spotlight has firmly shifted to the future of their star striker, Alexander Isak.

With Liverpool reportedly circling and speculation heating up, manager Eddie Howe has finally spoken on the matter — and while he remains hopeful, it’s clear things aren’t so simple.

Isak, who has missed Newcastle’s entire pre-season tour, is said to be considering his next move.

Reports suggest the Swedish forward has shown interest in joining Liverpool, despite turning down a massive tax-free deal from Al Hilal.

His camp reportedly believes he’s ready for the next step — and that step may lead him straight to Anfield.

What Eddie Howe said on Alexander Isak transfer offer?

While Howe insists there have been no formal offers, he didn’t hide his concern when asked about the situation.

Speaking to the media in Seoul, the Newcastle boss said (via Sky Sports), “He is still our player. He’s contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what is next for him.”

But he also added, “My wish is that he stays, but that’s not in my full control.”

“We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club. My wish is that he stays and we see him playing again next year.”

So far, Newcastle are standing firm with their £150 million valuation. The club knows Isak is one of the top strikers in Europe, and with three years left on his deal, they believe they hold the cards — at least for now.

Howe confirmed no club has officially made a bid. But the forward’s absence from training, followed by his omission from the squad that lost 4-0 to Celtic, has only fueled the exit rumours. Newcastle say it’s due to a minor thigh problem, but fans aren’t buying it.

Isak’s silence speaks volumes. The forward, who scored 62 goals in three seasons and helped win the Carabao Cup, may feel it’s time to chase silverware elsewhere.

And if Liverpool do return with a record-breaking offer, Newcastle might have to rethink their stance.
