Diogo Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, has spoken publicly for the first time since the devastating tragedy that claimed the life of her husband and his brother, Andre Silva.
Her post comes exactly one month after what was meant to be the happiest day of their lives, their wedding.
Just 11 days after the ceremony in Porto, both brothers were killed in a fatal car accident while returning to Liverpool for pre-season training.
The sudden loss sent shockwaves through the football world, leaving fans, teammates and loved ones in mourning.
Now, in her first message since the tragedy, Cardoso has chosen to share a deeply personal and emotional tribute that has moved supporters around the globe.

Rute Cardoso’s silent grief turns to words
On Instagram, Cardoso shared a touching black-and-white photo of her and Jota holding hands, paired with the caption:
“1 month of our ‘until death do us part’. For ever, Your white girl.”
The tribute comes just weeks after Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, were tragically killed in a car accident in northern Spain.
The crash occurred only 11 days after their wedding in Porto, leaving the football world in mourning.
Cardoso, who had visited Anfield after the incident to witness the sea of tributes left outside the stadium, had remained silent on social media until now.
Jota and Cardoso shared three children, and the 28-year-old had been preparing to return to pre-season training when the accident occurred.
The loss has left fans, teammates and the broader football community reeling.
EA Sports recently honored Jota with a permanent tribute in its FC video game, allowing players to display his shirt in Ultimate Team.
Locally, murals in Liverpool have also been painted, commemorating both Jota and his brother.
Liverpool is planning additional tributes throughout the season, ensuring that the memory of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva remains central to the club and its fans.
