Liverpool talisman Diogo Jota has thought of gifting pen and paper to Trent Alexander-Arnold as cheeky Christmas present.
Festive season has come to the Merseyside with a blast of joy and happiness as the Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League points table by four points with a game in hand after the emphatic 3-6 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
LFC made their trip to London on Sunday to challenge Ange Postecoglou’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and emerged victorious with a scoreline that would definitely boost the players’ morales who had drawn last two PL matches.
However, among all the positivity and Christmas carols ringing around Anfield, the grave concern still remains regarding the pending contract extensions of Salah, Van Dijk and Trent.
Although Salah and Van Dijk’s extension situations are looking much more positive, the fullback’s future looks uncertain.
Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy recently reported,
“My information has been very consistent and that is that talks remain ongoing between Liverpool and the representatives of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold to give them new contracts.
The dialogue has been very positive, it’s been moving forward, it’s been held in a very respectful manner from all sides.
Because ultimately, Liverpool want to do right by the players, but also on the club themselves.”
But she also warned about the Real Madrid interest by saying,
“With Trent it’s going to take a lot more elbow grease. It might be a lot more expensive to get that deal over the line, given his age, given what he means to this club.”

Cheeky Christmas gift for Trent from Diogo Jota
In a video for Sky Sports Premier League YouTube channel, Portuguese striker Jota made a comment that definitely fueled the extension conversation.
When asked about what would he gift the Englishmen for Christmas by reporter Harriet Prior, the 28-year-old stated,
“What would I buy Trent? Paper and a pen, so he can sign his contract!”
This comment clearly expressed the unified eagerness of the team to retain a player of Alexander-Arnold’s calibre.
Hopefully, the extension announcement comes in time so that the festive mood is elevated further.
