Liverpool Star Reveals How He Prepared For Euros RO16 Clash!
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo explains how he prepares to face Romania in the Euro RO16 clash as Netherlands take on Romania in Munich on Tuesday.
It’s been a tough week for the Dutch after losing their final group match against Austria by three goals to two.
The Netherlands had a whole week to prepare for this game. And Cody Gakpo has been putting his time to good use.
Cody Gakpo Ready With Netherlands For RO16 Clash
Gakpo seems to have used his time to research against his Round of 16 opponents, Romania.
Gakpo on Romania clash:
“To be honest I watched all three games from them”
“They have some good players, I can’t say that one, in particular, is the best one, but as a team, they were very good. In the attacking line, they have some dribblers like [Ianis] Hagi and [Dennis] Man, and steady midfielders as well. And the right-back is a good one.”
Cody Gakpo on his duel with right-back Andrei Ratiu:
“I have to make his life very difficult. I’m going to try and go on one v ones with him, and it’s going to be a tough battle. But it’s good for me and I’ll have to try my best to go past him and be important for the team.”
Gakpo has started all the games for Netherlands this Euros, He has been the most dangerous attacking player for the Dutch.
Gakpo is the top scorer for the Netherlands with 2 goals.
Virgil Van Dijk revealed that the mood in the dressing room wasn’t great after the Austria match.
However, Koeman has said that he has ‘cleared the air’ ahead of the knockout games.
Van Dijk & Co will have to show improvement in their performance to get past a hard-working Romania side.
