Liverpool stars are in action for their respective nations during the international break, Liverpool and Scotland defender Andy Robertson has come under criticism for his performance against Poland.
Robertson started all 3 games Liverpool played this season under new manager Arne Slot even though he had an injured pre-season and has put in a decent shift at left-back.
Andy Robertson under criticism from Scotland National media
Scotland conceded a late penalty from Poland in their 3-2 defeat. Although it was a frustrating game for the whole Scotland team not just Robertson.
It was Robertson’s 75th appearance for the National Team but the match did not end in his favour. Robertson gave a careless penalty, which put Poland 2-0 up through Robert Lewandowski’s penalty strike.
Scotland did make a comeback in the second half, through a 76th-minute equaliser from Scott Mctominay. But Nicola Zalweski’s injury-time penalty ensured victory for Poland.
The Glasgow Times gave Scotland captain Andy Robertson a rating of 6/10. “Liverpool’s left-back whipped in a delightful cross for McTominay’s no-goal. It was right on the money. His delivery from open play was more often than not below par, though” said Glasgow Times on Robertson’s performance.
On a more positive note, Liverpool loanee Ben Doak made his Scotland debut and was involved in Scott Mctominay’s goal.
