Arne Slot has described the dip in the performances of midfielder Ryan Gravenberch recently.
Gravenberch has been one of Liverpool’s most consistent players this season as he has picked up to the defensive midfield role with so much ease.
The Dutch international seems to be experiencing a first hitch in an excellent season but Slot has explained the situation with the midfielder’s recent form for the Reds.
The midfielder who was not used much in his first season at Anfield, has taken to the No. 6 position like a ‘duck to water’ and made the position his own.
Following the Red’s inability to sign their preferred choice for the position, Martin Zubimendi in the summer, Gravenberch has impressed so much in the role this season that it is not seen anymore as a priority for the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot explains Gravenberch’s dip in form
Speaking in his pre-match press conference before Sunday’s match at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City, Slot explained that he was not worried about the midfielder’s form.
When asked about Gravenberch, the manager said, “I think that partly what it is that the player may not perform at the highest level every match.” Slot also added that he believed the midfielder has all the potential to become part of an elite group of players in the world.
According to thisisanfield, Slot spoke, “There are only a few players in the world who can be a nine out of ten every three days; if you look at his age ,he might eventually belong to that group of players, those two or three or four that can do this.”
The manager explained that Gravenberch is not at that level yet, and added that was very normal. Slot explained that the form of the player also depended on the style of the opposing team.
“I liked him against Villa much more than I liked him against Everton for example,” Slot said buttressing his point.
Slot added that it is not always the form of the player or the number of games he has played that is responsible for the present form, and that playing styles and other things are to be considered when assessing the performance of players.
