Armin Pecsi to Liverpool - Transfer Update

Liverpool’s summer business is quietly picking up pace — and the latest addition comes between the sticks. The Reds have officially signed young Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi, making him their second summer signing (via Fabrizio Romano).

The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal after completing his move from Puskas Akademia. While he might not be a household name just yet, Liverpool fans might want to remember the name — he could be one for the future.

With Caoimhin Kelleher completing a move to Brentford, the Reds were quick to act. Pecsi now joins a goalkeeping group that already features Alisson Becker and new recruit Giorgi Mamardashvili.

And while Pecsi may start out as third-choice, Liverpool clearly believe he has the tools to climb the pecking order.

Who is Armin Pecsi? The new Liverpool signing

Known for his quick reflexes and calmness with the ball, Pecsi has already made 70 senior appearances in Hungary.

He has 21 clean sheets and a growing reputation across Europe. He was even nominated for the European Golden Boy award — not something you often see for a goalkeeper.

Speaking about his future, the club sees Pecsi as a long-term project. He’s expected to begin his journey with the Under-21 side.

But depending on how pre-season goes, don’t be surprised to see him make a few appearances in cup games. A loan spell is also on the table if it helps his development.

Pecsi isn’t new to Anfield either. He’s already visited the stadium twice before as a youth international. Now, he gets to call it home.

The move shows Liverpool are not just thinking about today — they’re planning for tomorrow too. As Arne Slot begins to shape his squad, Pecsi could prove to be a very smart piece of business.
