Alexis Mac Allister has become a key part of Liverpool’s midfield, but recent transfer talk has placed him on Real Madrid’s radar.

With fans growing curious about his future, his father, Carlos Mac Allister, has now offered some clarity.

And no, this isn’t another case of Mac Allister to Madrid — at least not anytime soon.

The Argentine midfielder, who arrived at Anfield from Brighton in the summer of 2023, has played nearly every game since putting on the red shirt.

His role under both Jurgen Klopp (then) and now Arne Slot has been crucial in Liverpool’s title chase this season. But with interest from Spanish giants growing, the buzz around his next move has started to heat up.

Mac Allister’s father, however, believes his son is staying put. As per an interview with Fernando Niembro on Picado TV (quoted via Bolavip) “For now, I don’t think so. Time will tell,” Carlos said. “Alexis is very happy where he is.”

He also mentioned that Alexis has settled well in Manchester, living in a neighborhood that includes Liverpool teammates Andy Robertson and Joe Gomez, as well as fellow Argentine Lisandro Martínez of Manchester United.

“He speaks English well, understands the rules of the game, and converses with people. I think it’s been the best thing he’s had,” Carlos added.

Carlos also shared a fun story about his first meeting with then-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

The pair had a discussion shortly after Liverpool lost 5-2 to Real Madrid. Though he didn’t speak English fluently, Carlos didn’t hold back his thoughts.

“I told him they had a major problem,” Carlos recalled. “I told him to get on top of you, grab you, push you, hug you, and that you can’t mark from two meters away, which is why they conceded five goals.”

Klopp’s reaction? He agreed. And just like that, the two struck up a bond. Klopp later called Alexis directly and praised his talent and football upbringing.

While Real Madrid rumors may continue to swirl, it’s clear Mac Allister feels at home in Merseyside.

And with Liverpool on the verge of another Premier League crown, the timing for a move doesn’t seem quite right.
