Newcastle United recently launched their away kit for the 2025/26 season — a bold green design said to be inspired by the city’s Tyne Bridge.

The look raised plenty of eyebrows, not just for its Saudi-like colour scheme, but also for one key omission: Alexander Isak was nowhere to be seen.

It didn’t take long for fans to notice. Isak, Newcastle’s star striker and one of the Premier League’s most valuable forwards, was left out of all the official promotional content.

Not even a quick cameo in the social media videos. But here’s the twist — as per reports (via Chronicle Live), he was part of the kit photoshoot earlier this summer. That’s right, he posed with teammates, including Callum Wilson, yet didn’t make the final cut.

So, why did the Magpies leave their No.14 on the bench during one of the club’s biggest PR moments of the year?

With rumours swirling around a potential exit, it looks like Newcastle might be reading the room — and the transfer market.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool: Latest update on the transfer saga

Isak’s future has become the talk of Tyneside.

While he didn’t travel with the squad to Asia — reportedly due to a minor thigh issue — some believe the absence has more to do with transfer talks than sore muscles.

Liverpool have been closely linked, and according to multiple reports, Isak is open to exploring his options.

Still, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe tried to cool things down, saying: “We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club. My wish is he stays and we see him playing again next year.”

Despite that, Isak’s shirt has been hard to find during the Asia tour, both on the pitch and in the club store.

And when your top striker isn’t even front and center in a major kit reveal, it doesn’t take a football genius to smell something fishy.

Will Isak wear the new green shirt in competitive action? For now, it’s still up in the air — just like those crosses he keeps nodding in.
