Liverpool travel to Molineux to face Wolves on Saturday, aiming to continue their strong start to the season.

Arne Slot’s men have been flying high, winning six of their first seven matches across all competitions. Wolves, on the other hand, are still searching for their first win of the Premier League this season and are in desperate need of points.

Wolves have had a rough start, managing just one point from their opening five games. Gary O’Neil’s side is struggling defensively, having conceded 14 goals already, the worst record in the league.

Despite Matheus Cunha giving them hope with a goal against Aston Villa last weekend, Wolves saw their lead slip away, losing 3-1 after a late surge from Villa.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are on fire. After thrashing West Ham 5-1 in the Carabao Cup, they’ve shown they can dominate on both ends of the pitch. Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo each bagged two goals in that game, continuing their excellent form.

Liverpool’s attacking trio, including Luis Diaz, who also scored twice against Bournemouth recently, looks ready to exploit Wolves’ shaky defense. Slot’s side has scored multiple goals in each of their last five away games and will look to keep that run going at Molineux.

Wolves vs. Liverpool predicted lineup, team news

Liverpool

Liverpool were still without star goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who missed the midweek Carabao Cup victory due to a muscular injury. But as per Arne Slot he has trained and back in full training so we are expecting he will be back for this game.

Arne Slot admitted that it would be “tight” for the Brazilian to recover in time for the weekend clash. If Alisson is unavailable, Caoimhin Kelleher will continue to deputize in goal after an impressive performance last weekend.

Slot is expected to make significant changes to the team that thrashed West Ham 5-1 in the EFL Cup. Diogo Jota, who scored twice but played just 59 minutes, may lead the attack again, while Darwin Nunez could be given a rest after playing the full 90 minutes.

Liverpool’s only other confirmed absentee is Harvey Elliott, who remains sidelined with a foot fracture.

Liverpool Predicted Lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota

Wolves

Wolves face major defensive concerns after Yerson Mosquera sustained a serious knee injury in their defeat to Aston Villa, which could sideline him for the rest of the season. Mosquera joins Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez, Bastien Meupiyou, and Boubacar Traore on the lengthy injury list, all of whom are out with knee problems.

Gary O’Neil could receive a boost with the potential return of Toti, who is recovering from a thigh injury and might replace Mosquera in the backline. If Toti isn’t ready, Santiago Bueno will likely step in to partner Craig Dawson in central defence.

Left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, who played the full match against Villa despite recent fitness concerns, will be available but needs to be cautious, as he is one yellow card away from a suspension.

Wolves Predicted Lineup:

Johnstone; Semedo, S. Bueno, Dawson, Ait-Nouri; Bellegarde, Lemina, Andre, Gomes, Cunha; Larsen

Wolves vs. Liverpool prediction

Wolves have shown they can create scoring chances, but their defensive frailties, especially with Mosquera out, leave them highly vulnerable.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are in great form and will look to exploit Wolves’ shaky backline.

Given the Reds’ attacking firepower and defensive solidity, a repeat of last season’s 3-1 win seems likely, though this time, Wolves might struggle to find the net. Liverpool should walk away with a comfortable victory, keeping pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 – 0 Wolves.
