Alexis Mac Allister To Miss Liverpool Premier League Opener Against Ipswich Town?

Alexis Mac Allister To Miss Liverpool Premier League Opener Against Ipswich Town?

Alexis Mac Allister is the first LFC player to reach the final of 2024 Copa America, but will he play in the PL opener against Ipswich Town?

With the Copa America final on 15th July, it is not clear at the moment when Mac Allister will return to Liverpool.

Will Alexis Mac Allister Play In Opening Premier League Match?

Liverpool will have a number of players reporting late due to the Euros and Copa America, and Mac Allister will be one of the players reporting late.

However, players like Andy Robertson and Dominik Szoboszlai will be arriving earlier since their teams didn’t reach knockouts.

Since Alexis Mac Allister has reached the final of Copa America he will likely miss part of the pre-season tour in the USA.

LFC will start their pre-season tour in the USA with a match against Real Betis on July 27th.

As of now, there has been no indication that he will be part of Argentina’s squad in the Summer Olympics.

Clubs, however, are not obliged to send players to the Olympics as it does not fall under FIFA rules.

His availability in the opening match against Ipswich Town depends on when he returns from holiday.

Argentina’s Olympic Fixtures

Argentina is in group B along with Iraq, Morocco and Ukraine.

Argentina will play Morocco on 24th July, Iraq on 27th July, and Ukraine on 30th July.

It is highly unlikely that Alexis Mac Allister will be a part of Argentina’s squad for the Olympics. The Club will not allow him to participate as he already played the whole Copa America.
