After the exciting conclusions of the 2024 editions of UEFA Euro and CONMEBOL Copa America, international football games are returning to the Summer Olympics 2024 and Liverpool players are also in that discussion.

Both international tournaments have provided much entertainment to the fans for the last one-and-a-half months.

However, football fans can still witness some more international action prior to the commencement of the 2024-25 club season.

The Summer Olympics 2024 will start on July 26 in France, but the football tournament will commence on July 24.

A total of 23 nations are partaking in this century-old competition with 16 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams.

Are Any Liverpool Player Taking Part In Summer Olympics 2024?

Many footballing giants have qualified for the tournament. The nations of a few Reds such as Alexis Mac Allister’s Argentina, Mohamed Salah’s Egypt, Ibrahima Konate’s France, Wataru Endo’s Japan and Stefan Bajcetic’s Spain have achieved participation.

However, these players will not be a part of their respective national squads as the clubs are not obliged by FIFA to send the players for Olympic duty.

Earlier reports suggested that despite initially being chosen as the flagbearer of Egypt in the opening ceremony, Mohamed Salah will not participate.

The other nations such as Argentina, France and Spain opt towards sending their younger players into the tournament led by the managers of the youth sides.

Notably, LFC icon Javier Mascherano is managing the Argentine Olympic side and Premier League legend Thierry Henry is taking charge of the French Olympic side.

So no Liverpool men’s team players are partaking in this international competition. However, two LFC women’s team players, Fuka Nagano and Teagan Micah will represent their nations Japan and Australia respectively.
