Where To Watch Brazil vs. Costa Rica LiveStream, TV Channel, Lineups, Prediction | Copa America 2024 Group Stage

The much-awaited first game for Brazil in the 2024 Copa America campaign is finally here. Brazil will face Costa Rica in Group D on Monday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

Brazil will enter the tournament in good form in 2024, as does Endrick, who has scored in three of their four games this year.

After losing their final three games in 2023, they secured a 1-0 win over England at Wembley in March, followed by a 3-3 draw against Spain a few days later. Just before the tournament, they beat Mexico 3-2 and drew 1-1 with the USA.

Dorival Junior’s team will also face Paraguay and Colombia in Group E, aiming to go one step further this time after losing to Argentina in the 2021 final.

Costa Rica head coach Gustavo Alfaro brings Copa America experience, having led Ecuador to the quarter-finals in the 2021 tournament.

The 61-year-old also guided Ecuador to the World Cup in the following year. Alfaro will now face a different challenge with Los Ticos.

Costa Rica have not advanced beyond group stages in their last two Copa America appearances, last doing so in 2004.

However, their recent form is promising. They won four of their previous six international matches, losing only once (3-1 to Argentina). They have not conceded in their last three competitive fixtures and have won 15 of their previous 16 games when scoring the opening goal.

Brazil vs. Costa Rica: Team News and Predicted Lineups

Brazil

Brazil’s notable absences include Man City goalkeeper Ederson, who broke his eye socket in a match against Tottenham Hotspur in May; Casemiro, who was left off the team after a knock in March; star goalscorer Neymar, who is still recovering from an ACL injury; and Richarlison, who has a calf injury.

Due to Ederson’s injury, Bento and Rafael will be Liverpool goalie Alisson’s backup keepers. With 85 caps Marquinhos is their most experienced player and West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta is just four appearances away from 50 with the national team.

While Vini Jr. is probably on the shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or, his Real Madrid teammates Endrick and Rodrygo will be the main players in attack. Rodrygo scored his team’s only goal against USA.

Brazil Predicted Lineup:

Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Militao, Wendell; Guimaraes, Luiz; Raphinha, Paqueta, Rodrygo; Vini Junior.

Costa Rica

Of the Costa Rican players chosen for this tournament, only Douglas Sequeira is not wearing an international cap. Rojas and Molina both wear one.

Their most seasoned players are Campbell, an attacking midfielder; and Calvo with more than 100 caps for Los Ticos.

In their two World Cup qualifiers, Orlando Galo scored three goals. Zamora and Taylor are the goalscorers in their victory over Granada. This was their first goal wearing a Costa Rican shirt.

Costa Rica Predicted Lineup:

Sequeira; Cascante, Vargas, Calvo; Quiros, Galo, Aguilera, Mora; Campbell, Zamora; Contreras.

Brazil vs. Costa Rica: Match Prediction

Costa Rica have qualified for the World Cup without any problems, but Brazil have a wealth of young, skilled players as well as seasoned veterans at their disposal.

We think this will give them an advantage over Los Ticos, who are going through a transitional period.

Prediction: Brazil 3-0 Costa Rica.
