Bruno Fernandes on Liverpool defeat
Fernandes who had worked together on the pitch at United with Elanga congratulated his former teammate on his success on Instagram with the simple message “That assist man”.
Elanga a product of United’s academy had made a noticeable impact at Anfield with his assist catching the eye of Fernandes, despite Liverpool’s promising form coming off the back of a 3-0 win against Manchester United.
Manchester United beat Southampton 3-0 the same weekend to get back on track, while Liverpool’s unbeaten run came to an abrupt end.
Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho scored goals to help Erik ten Hag’s team recover from their earlier struggles before the international break.

Although United’s victory gave Ten Hag some respite as they rose to 10th in the Premier League rankings, the loss begged concerns about how Slot’s Liverpool would handle setbacks in their new era.
