Arne Slot reportedly played an important role in the signing of Jeremie Frimpong this summer, and as Frimpong reveals his side of the story, it becomes even more clear.
The Dutch manager is already performing miracles at Liverpool, winning the Premier League in his first season in charge. Everyone in the squad respects him, and the players strongly believe in his ideas.
Slot also appears to be actively involved in transfer discussions. Liverpool’s latest signing, Florian Wirtz, revealed how crucial Slot was in his decision-making after his move was confirmed on Friday evening.
Wirtz said: “The conversations were always really good. I can remember the first time, he already showed me some scenes of how we want to play and how I could fit in the team.”
He also added: “He was just telling me that I’m a player he really wants to have in his team and can bring the team a step forward. I just could imagine it [being] good to be in the team and to make it better because I have to make my performances every week – but I’m here for this.”
Meanwhile, Slot’s compatriot Jeremie Frimpong also revealed the Liverpool boss’s influence on his decision to join the Reds this summer.

What Jeremie Frimpong revealed about Arne Slot
Frimpong said: “He [Arne Slot] said he really wanted me at Liverpool and that I would fit well into the team.”
Slot might have identified Frimpong as the perfect replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, with both full-backs known for their attacking presence on the right flank. Their numbers from last season are also similar — Frimpong provided five assists, while Alexander-Arnold managed six in their respective leagues.
Frimpong also added: “And when you hear that Arne Slot wants you – and then to play for Liverpool too – that’s just an honour, you know? How could I say no?”
