After just one defeat in the match against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool are now at the 2nd spot in the 2024-25 Premier League standings table. The credit goes to Arne Slot and his training regime, but now, he is under fire from Valentijn Driessen, a football journalist.
Previously, the Dutchman has received derogatory comments regarding his antics and moves while his squad was playing in a match. It is surprising how much Dutch media loves to bring down the Anfield Boss even though he is a sincere and effective manager.
Valentijn Driessen lashes out at Arne Slot in podcast
Apart from the Premier League, Liverpool are now gearing up for a wonderful performance ahead in the Carabao Cup. The new boss is simultaneously shuffling up the squad with newcomers like Chiesa and senior stars like Salah.
However, in a recent talk show, Valentijn Driessen had some things to talk about Slot. He thinks that reporters are canonising the Dutchman too much when he is building up his saga on Klopp’s lineup.
This is not the first time someone has criticized the former Feyenoord Manager. Even after putting up solid performances and wins, this keeps happening.
In the talk show, Arne Slot received some harsh comments from journalist Valentijn Driessen.
“I was watching that Guardiola yesterday. Who positions himself like an idiot in front of that dugout for 90 minutes. Why doesn’t anyone say anything about that?
It has very quickly become the norm. They used to laugh at that coach of Atletico Madrid, who stood like a maniac in front of that dugout all the time.”
Furthermore, he went on to criticise the Dutchman. According to Valentijn Driessen, Arne Slot looks like a ‘moron’ when he stands.
”And then you got Conte and all those idiots. And if a trainer is sitting now, the board will probably say: ‘He is not involved in it’. From now on you have to stand in front of that dugout like a moron.
After five seconds I see Arne Slot standing there and doing this. Come on, what kind of nonsense is that?”
