Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold appears to be on the verge of bidding farewell to Anfield, with reports from Spain claiming his move to Real Madrid are now “90% done.”
The 26-year-old right-back, whose contract expires in June, has long been linked with a switch to Los Blancos, and the latest updates suggest his departure is all but sealed.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Alexander-Arnold has already agreed to terms on a long-term deal with Madrid. And he is set for a grand unveiling at the Santiago Bernabéu this summer. The only missing piece?
His signature. Yet, optimism remains high at the Spanish club, with officials reportedly convinced the deal is practically completed.

Liverpool, however, refused to entertain Madrid’s advances in the January transfer window. Real made two lowball offers – €15m (£12.5m) and a marginally improved €16m (£13.3m)—both of which were swiftly rejected.
The Reds, led by new manager Arne Slot, sporting director Richard Hughes, and CEO of football Michael Edwards, stood firm despite the risk of losing Alexander-Arnold for free in the summer.
Alexander-Arnold has said “Yes”…. But why?
Alexander-Arnold stated earlier this year:
“I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum] is what I will say. I have been at the club 20 years now. I have signed four or five contract extensions, and none of those have been played out in public — and this one won’t be either.”
The decision to leave, it seems, is rooted in both ambition and personal ties. The England international seeks a fresh challenge, having already lifted every major club trophy with Liverpool.
Another major factor? A long-waited reunion with his close friend Jude Bellingham at Madrid.
Liverpool, still holding out hope for a late change of heart, will not go down without a fight. However, AS insists that when Alexander-Arnold says yes to Madrid, he means it. For now, the Reds will shift focus back to the pitch as they prepare for their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Plymouth Argyle.
