The new Premier League record set by Trent
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s two assists yesterday against Newcastle have set a new Premier League record. This saw his assist tally in the Premier League rise to 61 making him the first-ever defender to reach 60 in the competition’s history.
Trent was level with his Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson going into the match with 59 assists.

Trent changed the game for the Reds, his two assists proved to be vital. As each match goes by Trent proves again and again why he deserves a new contract, not only Trent but Salah and Van Dijk also.
Losing Trent on a free transfer next summer would be a huge loss.
Trent is free to negotiate a pre-contract with other clubs starting in January if the Reds failed to offer him a new contract until the new year.
With Trent high on Real Madrid’s transfer shortlist, Liverpool should provide him with a new contract as soon as possible.
The match against The Magpies showed Trent’s class and why losing him on a free would be disastrous.
