Double sources have confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the verge of signing a new contract by Christmas.
The Reds are getting more and more confident that their vice-captain will be signing a new deal. This claim has been confirmed by two sources and the possibility is growing.
Coming through the youth ranks of LFC, the Scouser has made a name for himself from being a fan to leading his boyhood club.
Currently, Trent is considered one of the best, if not the best right-back in the world and has already been a part of the team which has won seven major silverware including the Premier League and Champions League.
So far in his Merseyside career, the 26-year-old has 325 appearances across all competitions and bagged 19 goals and assisted 83 times, totalling 102 goal contributions.
However, his contract is set to expire the coming summer and he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club from January 1.

Experts on why Alexander-Arnold will sign Liverpool contract
It is now a known fact that Real Madrid are in the run to sign Trent to replace Dani Carvajal and they have been persistent with this interest.
However, according to Graeme Bailey of TBR, the Reds will soon be securing the services of the English fullback before Christmas. The report states,
Liverpool sources have confirmed to us that they are highly confident that the 26-year-old will put pen to paper before Christmas on his new deal.
Liverpool have offered him the largest contract they have ever made to a homegrown player, indeed it would put him on par with Mo Salah and make him the highest-paid English player in the Premier League.

While explaining why the 26-year-old PL and UCL winner will stay at the Merseyside, former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit said via InstantCasino,
“You know what, I’m not sure about Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid. He has the opportunity to stay at a huge club like Liverpool and he can become one of the best players in the Liverpool history of a legendary and special club like Liverpool. That has to be something that is very interesting to him, especially as a local boy and a fan of the club.
If he goes to Madrid, he’s going to play every single season hoping to win the Champions League, but I think it’s the same for Liverpool. Liverpool, every time they are involved in the Champions League, they want to win, but they don’t have the same recent history as Madrid in the competition. Madrid is the reference in the Champions League, but Liverpool is a huge club.”

Alexander-Arnold’s recent comments on working with Arne Slot solidifies the belief even further. Speaking to FeyenoordPings, the England international said,
“He helps me and teaches me a lot. It’s very in-depth. Very detailed. He always studies the opponent thoroughly and tells us where their weak spots are. Then we have to punish them on the field. The training sessions are much more intense. The spaces are much smaller. It’s a very Dutch way of playing, in terms of ball handling.”
These factors are creating a more hopeful environment at Liverpool as they look to continue their form and class after the international break ends.
