Many of the elite clubs like Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and PSG have shown interest in signing Manu Kone for €50 million plus add-ons.
In his recent video, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Chelsea, Man Utd, and PSG are ahead of Liverpool in signing the Frenchman.
Even though the likes of Bellingham, Declan Rice, and Caicedo are the top transfer targets, the Gladbach man looks to have been attracting interest from top European clubs.
Liverpool and Newcastle were reportedly monitoring the midfielder. However, Chelsea, Man Utd, and PSG seem to have had an upper hand in recent weeks, as per Fabrizio.
The Italian journalist revealed that Gladbach have put up an asking price of €50 million plus add-ons. The German club looks to make a huge profit after they signed him for just €9 million in 2021.
The former Toulouse midfielder has been catching the eyes of top clubs due to his impressive performances.
He has made 54 appearances across all competitions for the German club this season, making six goal contributions.
Should Liverpool go after Manu Kone?
The Reds have had a disappointing season and one of the main reasons has been injuries to their best players. Especially in the middle of the park, Klopp has had a major issue.
With Thiago being injured for a long time and the poor performances of Fabinho and Henderson, it has been a pain to find consistency for the Reds in their midfield.
Also, with his recent links to PSG, the 21-year-old spoke about the possible prospect of playing at the Parc des Princes.
“It’s a pleasure. I’m Parisian. Obviously, they’re a big club that play in the Champions League and have very great players. So, by evolving alongside them, you can only progress. For the moment, the truth is that I am at Gladbach. I have to stay focused. We’ll see later what can happen. We must remain lucid and professional.”
Furthermore, the race is still open and many PL clubs are interested in the services of the midfielder.
However, the Frenchman has revealed that he would relish the minutes he would get to play and that would also be a priority for him if he is to leave Germany.
This would be a perfect signing for Liverpool as he would be a regular starter for Klopp with his midfield overhaul this summer.
