Liverpool star with three years left on his contract ‘asks to leave the club’ in major blow for Klopp

A host of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Ireland international and Liverpool’s second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are in good hands when it comes to the goalkeeping department. The Brazilian shot-stopper has been one of the best in the business for the Reds.
Due to this, it is difficult for the 24-year-old to replace Alisson as a first-team regular.
Kelleher has spent 4 seasons being Liverpool’s number 2 and his notable performances being witnessed in the Carabao Cup. He has been a key player in helping the Reds win the Carabao Cup in 2022.
This would be a huge blow for Klopp but he would not stand in the way of the Irishman leaving the club.
Kelleher valuation by Liverpool
Liverpool have valued the Irish shot-stopper at around £30 million and already a few Premier League clubs are interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old.
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City are one of these clubs as they want a young keeper who can take over from Kasper Schmeichel, who departed last summer.
Another club interested in Kelleher is Aston Villa, who would pursue if the World Cup winner departed Villa Park. However, Emiliano Martinez leaving the Villans is looking unlikely at the moment.
Also, the Scottish club, Celtic are on the lookout for a new keeper and have turned their attention towards Kelleher.
Thus, it is highly likely that the player who started his career with Ringmahon Rangers in his youth will depart the Merseyside giants anytime soon.
Next up for Liverpool?
The Reds are currently sitting 5th in the Premier League table just 3 points below Tottenham, who have played a game more than Liverpool. While next up for the former European Champions is a visit to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth as Klopp’s troops aim to clinch the 4th Spot.
