Liverpool continue their hunt in the market for a midfielder as Jurgen Klopp looks towards the Cameroonian talent, Carlos Baleba.

Furthermore, the Reds are already rumored to be making a move for Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount, as a part of their midfield overhaul.

As per 90 min, the Merseyside club is in the race for the 19-year-old Lille player. However, Manchester Utd, Newcastle, and Arsenal are also interested in the Cameroonian.

The Ligue 1 side has slapped a fee of around £30 million for the new emerging talent.

Moreover, according to the reports, the Serie A side, A.C. Milan have failed to land the 19-year-old in the recent January transfer window.

Thus, it is likely that Lille would be demanding a fee similar to that of Amadou Onana when he left for Everton last summer in a deal worth more than £30m.

Even though the Cameroonian lacks experience at the highest level, many clubs from Europe have shown great interest in Baleba.

How would Carlos Baleba fit in for Liverpool?

The Reds are in need of creative midfielders and the Douala-born midfielder looks like a good fit. With Harvey Elliot and Stefan Bajcetic, Baleba would act as a developing talent for the Reds.

The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in Ligue 1 this season, quickly becoming one of the division’s most in-demand young players.

Baleba has played 12 games for the former Ligue 1 champions and has had a pass completion rate of 84.4% which is the 6th best in the league.

Baleba arrived at Lille in January 2022 from the Brasseries du Cameroun academy. He made his debut for the club in a 4-1 win over Auxerre in August.

Moreover, the midfielder has been described as ‘very strong and powerful’ by his teammate Jonathan David.

All things considered, it is to be seen where the Lille midfielder would play the next season.
