According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano Liverpool are now interested in signing a £67m attacker.
Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Villarreal’s exciting young winger Yeremi Pino on “many” occasions. Pino appears to possess all the qualities that Liverpool seeks in a forward. He is quick and agile, can play with either foot and enjoys playing wide.
The 19-year-old Spanish international is currently in his third season of senior professional football at Villarreal. He has 78 appearances for the LaLiga side and has scored 14 goals. However, the winger was injured and didn’t feature in the Champions League semi-finals against Liverpool in both legs. Which the Reds won 5 – 2 on aggregate.
With Chelsea and Arsenal also seemingly tracking the youngster, the Reds have also joined the race in signing this young winger from Spain.
Fabrizio Romano on Liverpool signing Yeremi Pino
Fabrizio Romano is an Italian football journalist and is regarded as one of the most world-renowned sources for football transfers. Speaking on his “Here we Go Podcast”, Romano claimed that Liverpool are interested in Pino.
“Many questions on Yeremi Pino. We have many rumours, it’s one of many players followed by Arsenal, but also by other clubs, for example, I am told that Chelsea has been tracking Yeremi Pino and now they are on Anthony Gordon. Pino is a player they have been watching for a long time,”
Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Pino many, many times in the past year. Top English clubs have been following him.“
Sadio mane, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino left the club on a permanent deal. Therefore, Liverpool made a club record signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Fábio Carvalho from Fulham this summer. Moreover, with these new additions, Liverpool have enough strength in the squad for attackers.
The 19-year-old winger is an exciting prospect but he also has a 67 million euros release clause on him. While Villarreal are expecting a bid of around 42 million euros for their young prodigy. However, Liverpool would not be willing to spend a whopping figure for someone with just 78 La Liga appearances. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea are eyeing the young Spanish winger for years with Liverpool.
Thus, it will be interesting to see which club is willing to expend more for Yeremi Pino’s signatures.
