Liverpool are in an agreement in principle with Portuguese national and current Fulham winger Fabio Carvalho. Fabio, who’s available as a free agent this summer, looks keen on moving to Liverpool.
The Reds were close to signing the player in the January transfer window but failed to meet his £8 million ask on the deadline day.
The agreement with Carvalho
According to reports, the club has reached an agreement (in principle) with the player. It has been understood that the ‘personal terms’ have been discussed between both the parties, and the deal looks ‘set and in place’.
However, according to the sources, both Liverpool and Fulham want to avoid going through a ‘Tribunal’. Instead, if Fulham agrees to accept a Liverpool sum, there will be ‘no need’ for a tribunal.
Fabio Carvalho would be available on a free transfer in the upcoming transfer window, by the end of June.
Fabio Carvalho a future prospect for Liverpool
The 19-year-old has been a ‘key’ player for the championship side, Fulham in the ongoing season. The midfielder’ has already appeared 29 times for Fulham across all competitions this season. He has been clinical with his play, by providing 6 assists and scoring 8 goals.
The Fulham No. 10 is no doubt a good player, but a player who’s future seems ‘bright’ at Liverpool.
With the situation of current ‘key’ players of Liverpool in a ‘questionable state’, Fabio could well in place fill that gap and boost Liverpool’s attack.
Competition for Liverpool
There are certain other clubs as well who have an eye on the 19-year-old midfielder. Liverpool might up their ‘price’ to avoid competition if required.
Being a young and exciting attacking player, he will surely attract offers from many European clubs. Premier League clubs would also be in contention to get Carvalho.
But the club looks in good spirit to land the player at Anfield, and since now ‘the agreement is in place’, things could work in Liverpool’s favour.
