Liverpool are preparing a £60m bid for Alexander Isak in an attempt to bolster their attack.
This one comes from El Nacional, who reckon that Klopp has made Isak his one of the top priorities. The German has urged the Reds to sign the Real Sociedad attacker.
According to the Catalan news outlet, Liverpool believes a 40 million euro bid will be enough to sign the 22-year-old forward. However, it seems that £40 million won’t be enough to acquire Isak’s services. The La Liga side will let the 22-year-old forward go when his buyout clause is met.
The Reds are looking to replace Belgian international Divock Origi, who came off the bench and struck a late goal in their 3-2 defeat against West Ham.
Isak is currently tied up with the La Liga side until 2026, with a £60 million exit clause.
Should Liverpool bid £60m for Alexander Isak?
Jurgen Klopp’s attacking force needs a new face. The Reds lack a quality natural striker in their lineup. Firmino has always been the main False No. 9 over the years, but he is past his prime, who is currently out injured.
Hence, Isak is a perfect striker for the Reds. The 22-year-old Swedish is currently one of the best young talents in the continent.
Last season, he appeared for 30 games in the Spanish league and scored 17 goals. Isak has directly scored 6 goals in 11 starts (all competitions) for Txuri-Urdin, who are currently a point ahead of Real Madrid at the top of the table.
The stats look pretty good, it’s now up to Liverpool how quickly they’ll act on his signing. Jurgen is desperate to sign an attacker in January with already a number of players’ names have come up.
But for his signing, the Reds must reduce their wage bill. Also, the injury list is increasing day by day, with the midfield being the most suffering part of the team. Therefore, the Reds will surely go for some shopping in the January market.
