Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe might be missing out on star forward Alexander Isak in midweek Liverpool clash.

The 2024-25 season has started like a fantasy for the Reds as they cruise towards the PL title with a nine-point lead at the top.

Going into the 14th gameweek of the PL, the Merseysiders boast an impressive record of 11 wins, One draw and one loss, scoring 26 goals and conceding eight so far in the process.

The club looks destined to win the top flight of English football much before Christmas has arrived.

As they look to solidify their chances of securing the title, the Anfield giants will travel to St. James’ Park tonight to face the Magpies.

Alexander Isak to miss Liverpool Vs. Newcastle clash

LFC head into the midweek clash with a five-game winning streak and the hosts have won only one game out of the last five and lost two.

The black and white outfitters are currently 11th on the table with 19 points and intend to climb upwards.

However, they might miss out on their dependable striker Isak due to an injury received last weekend. Speaking about his injury, manager Howe said,

“Alex [Isak] took a knock to his hip; we haven’t seen him in training yet, but we don’t think it is a long-term injury.”

The Merseysiders might benefit from the Swedish attacker missing the game along with Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth.

Eddie Howe might have to put Callum Wilson up top who will not be as threatening as Isak.

Liverpool on the other hand will miss upon Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley, Kostas Tsimikas, Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa due to injuries.
