Arthur Melo was among the three Liverpool players who made a surprise appearance for Liverpool U-21.

Tonight in Premier League 2, Arthur Melo will play for Liverpool’s under-21 team against Leicester City.

On the final day of the transfer window, the midfielder from Juventus signed a season-long loan with the Reds.

Since Arthur was no longer useful at the Old Lady before moving to Anfield, he was unfit when he came.

He lowers down to play for the under-21s away against Leicester for a few minutes in order to increase his chances of having an effect on Jurgen Klopp’s team following the international break.

Due to the Queen’s funeral being held on Monday, Liverpool’s match against Chelsea tomorrow has been postponed. As a result, Klopp has chosen to give Arthur a much-needed runout.

Fabio Carvalho and Nat Phillips will be playing alongside the Brazil international against the Foxes.

Carvalho has made a full recovery from a knee beating he took in the scoreless draw with Everton.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who came to Liverpool from Fulham in the summer, has had a promising start to his career.

Phillips has been in just one game so far this season despite being on the Reds’ periphery of the squad.

The center-back is now injured, and Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, and Joe Gomez are ahead of him in the lineup.

The under-21s also features Stefan Bajcetic, who has been a fixture on the first team bench this year.
