After Liverpool defeated Tottenham this Sunday, Jamie Carragher listed three players on Twitter that impressed him that day.

Carragher praises three Liverpool players who shined against Tottenham

Mo Salah scored twice for the Reds at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the opening period. And that was enough for Liverpool to bring all three points back to Merseyside, despite a strong second 45 from Spurs.

Of course, Liverpool would welcome Salah’s return to form. This season, the Egyptian hasn’t exactly been at his spectacular best. But he’ll benefit much from having an additional two in his bag.

Carragher then praised Salah’s efforts on Twitter. Ibou Konate and Darwin Nunez were both singled out at the same time for their contributions to the victory.

A fun day for former Liverpool defender

Of course, Carragher was happy with the outcome. Aston Villa destroyed Manchester United, and he later witnessed his favorite Liverpool take up a sizable three points as well.

You have to admit that all three players he mentions were on the top of their game last night. Konate is fast overtaking Van Dijk in importance at the back. Darwin Nunez seemed to be improving each week while under assault.

This can only be good for Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping for a better second half of the season with players who should be healthy again following the World Cup.

Momentum for Darwin Nunez

Liverpool required big players to defeat Tottenham, and they succeeded. Carragher is correct to single out this group, and Nunez’s performance was impressive once again.

The Uruguayan appears to be catching on now and has toned down some of his sass to become a nuisance for defenders.

Nunez will score goals soon enough, but Klopp won’t worry as long as his high-priced summer acquisition continues to put up displays like these.
