Former Liverpool star Michael Owen is back with his prediction for the weekend blockbuster, as Liverpool takes on Tottenham.

After a massive game against Villarreal in the second leg semi-final of the Champions League, the Reds are back into the Premier League. In a massive fixture, Liverpool are to face North London side Tottenham in a tricky tie.

With season end approaching fast, Liverpool finds themselves close to their dream of “Quadruple”. After Liverpool’s entry to the Paris final in the Champions League, marked themselves in another record, as the Merseysiders became the first British club to reach three finals in a single season.

Apart from the Cup competition, things are tight at the top of the table. In an intriguing title race, the Anfield club finds themselves just a single point behind Man City with just 4 games to play.

So will Klopp overcome Conte’s masterclass to keep Liverpool in the title challenge? we will soon find out.

Two teams with the contrasting season-end goal are up against each other. But the fact is the tie is labeled as tricky as neither side can drop points for the sake of achieving their season-end goal

Liverpool as we know it, are in a tight title race with just a point behind Man City in the league table. If the Reds are to drop a point at this part of the season, it will mean Man City will have a luxury in the race and will grab the trophy with ease.

Moreover, after the shock exit from the Champions League after their defeat to Real Madrid, the Citizen’s hearts have been set on the Premier League title. Pep doesn’t want to go trophyless this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham, on the other hand, are in a stressed battle to reach the top four this season. Currently, Conte’s side are sitting just a place outside the top four, and two points adrift of rivals Arsenal, who are at fourth.

Michael Owen predicts

Liverpool FC will move top of the Premier League if they avoid defeat against Spurs, with Manchester City set to host Newcastle United at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Michael Owen is backing Liverpool to win 3-1 over Tottenham on Saturday night at Anfield.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said:

I’m running out of superlatives for this Liverpool side, the wins just keep coming.

It wasn’t an emphatic performance, but the win last week at Newcastle was huge. That comeback win in Spain on Tuesday is bound to mean they enter this in great spirit. Luis Diaz changed the game against Villarreal, and I’d expect to see him from the start here.

This one is huge for Spurs. Considering Arsenal’s recent form, I don’t think Spurs can afford to lose this game. Son [Heung-min] has been in brilliant form, and he’s in the running for the golden boot.

However, I can’t not pick Liverpool. No side in Europe is in better form than them and they just don’t look like losing, particularly at Anfield. 3-1.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also up against Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley next weekend.
