Liverpool are off to a flying start under new manager Arne Slot both in Europe and in the Premier League, winning 9 games out of 10.
The Reds won their first two games in the Champions League, and are currently sitting 5th in the table with 6 points.
Now it’s safe to say Arne Slot has done a good job to replace Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot so far
The Reds have started the season on a high and Arne Slot deserves all the credit. But many believe the Reds are yet to face a top team this season.
Simon Hughes said via The Athletic: “He reminds me a lot of Rafael Benitez when he was at his best. Not in terms of the style of football he promises but his preparedness, calmness, as well as his decisiveness. From what I hear, the difference with Benitez (and this is a good thing, I think) is the players feel as though they know exactly where they stand with him”.
This is the best start any new manager has had in the history of Liverpool, and Arne Slot should thank Jurgen Klopp for that. Klopp left behind an elite group of players for Slot to succeed, a privilege no other Liverpool manager received.
Federico Chiesa is the only player in the current squad who did not feature under Jurgen Klopp. But much of the squad is still Jurgen Klopp’s.
Arne Slot suffered first defeat as Liverpool manager against Nottingham Forest, but since they have continued their winning streak.
