Steven Gerrard revealed that he received a message from Jurgen Klopp after getting the Aston Villa job last week. The former Reds captain had more than three years of stay in Scotland while managing Rangers. He helped them stop Celtic’s dominant reign of nine years.

Gerrard has now returned to Premier League as in charge of Aston Villa. The former England captain addressed the media ahead of his first game as he takes on Brighton this Saturday. He also revealed that Jurgen Klopp is excited to meet him at Anfield next month.

What message did Steven Gerrard get from Jurgen Klopp?

During the press conference, Gerrard spoke saying:

I bump into Klopp often when he takes his dogs for a walk. We live in the same area. He is a wonderful coach, a great man. Liverpool are lucky having him in charge. He sent me a message wanting a big hug on December 11. So I am looking forward to that.

Steven Gerrard kicked off his managerial career with Liverpool’s academy before joining Rangers in 2018. Now he is back in the Premier League to turn Aston Villa’s fortune and help them. He will visit Anfield next month to take on the Reds.

Gerrard has a challenging task set before him to take Villa back in the top half of the table. Aston Villa have been shaky since September having not picked up any points. This is going to be a mouth-watering occasion as we see Steven Gerrard unfold his job.

Under Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa have set a five-year plan. The main intention is to ensure that the team keeps improving. Aston Villa are 16th on the Premier League ladder with a lead of two points above the bottom three.

Aston Villa hopes that the arrival of Steven Gerrard will reignite their morale. His guidance must be the driving force to push the club forward. Playing European football has been the dream of Aston Villa fans. So they definitely will look to improve as they move on.

While Jurgen Klopp and co. will be waiting to welcome Gerrard on the 11th of December on the turf he was born to play.
