Arne Slot To Promote Liverpool Youngster To Senior Squad After Departure Of Veteran Player
After the exit of senior goalkeeper Adrian this summer, Arne Slot will reportedly promote Vitezslav Jaros to the Liverpool senior squad for the upcoming season.
The summer of 2024 is going to prove decisive for the Reds as they are destined to go through several major changes. The first and obvious one will be Arne Slot taking charge of the PL giants.
Other than that, the Merseysiders have also lost a few senior players as Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Adrian left the club after their contract expired. They might also lose Mo Salah, Van Dijk and Luis Diaz.
It is the Anfield exit of the Spanish goalie that has opened up a vacancy in the first-team. And Slot has the perfect opportunity to promote a young talent into the first-team.
Vitezslav Jaros To be Promoted To Liverpool Senior Squad
Jaros, the 22-year-old goalkeeper, joined the Anfield side in 2017 from the U-17 side of Czech giants SK Slavia Praha.
Despite arriving in the golden era for LFC where the team went on to win the Champions League and the Premier League, he was a part of the youth set-up.
However, with consecutive loan spells at St. Patrick’s Athletic FC, Notts County FC, Stockport County FC and SK Sturm Graz, Jaros has proven his worth.
In 133 appearances across all clubs and competitions in club football, the Czech goalkeeper kept 41 clean sheets and conceded 167 goals (stats via Transfermarkt).
Jaros also earned his first national cap for Czechia last month against Malta in the 7-1 victory. He was also a part of the Czechia national team going into the Euro 2024.
The young goalkeeper received an yellow card from the dugout in the heated last group stage match against Turkiye where they lost 2-1.
With Adrian leaving the club, Vitezslav Jaros has the perfect opportunity to become the third-choice goalkeeper for Liverpool behind Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher.
The pre-season games could serve as his shot to show his class and solidify his place in the squad for the upcoming season.
