Arne Slot has named a Wolves star whom he believes is capable of playing for a top Premier League side or one of the ‘big 6’ as they are fondly referred to.
The player in question is Wolves No. 10 Matheus Cunha. And he has emerged as a key player for a Wolves team that has had a season filled with more misses than hits.
The Brazilian attacker has contributed 11 goals and four assists in the Premier League this term. He also boasts exceptional ball-retaining and carrying abilities alongside great linkup play.
The 25-year-old striker has had speculation around his future of late, with Liverpool and Arsenal among the clubs said to be eyeing a move for the player.
He also has a release clause of £62.5m in his current contract. It is active from the upcoming summer transfer window.
All of these, and the huge prospect of the player, make him one to watch come the end of the season when top clubs will be aiming to rebuild and strengthen their squads.

What Arne Slot said about the Wolves star
In his press conference on Friday, Slot was asked about Cunha. And he singled him out as a player capable of performing for “one of the top teams in the Premier League.”
He added that despite Wolves sitting in 17th place in the table, the striker is a talented player with the ability to play for one of the big teams in England. According to thisisanfield, Slot stated,
“We saw his quality when we faced Wolves under Gary O’Neil. They put in a strong performance that day, with Cunha particularly standing out in the match.”
Cunha frequently operates behind the main striker at Wolves. He has also impressed with his attacking stats this term. On top of that, with striker Strand Larsen out with a long-term injury, the burden of leading the line rests on his shoulders.
“We know it’s going to be another tough game on Sunday at Anfield,” he noted.
Liverpool will be aiming to secure all three points at home as they continue their push for the League title.
Slot’s comments do not suggest that Cunha will be a target for the summer transfer window. But it is clear that he will remain on Liverpool’s recruitment radar.
Mo Salah’s contract saga shows no signs of ending anytime soon. Meanwhile, doubts are growing over the futures of Jota, Diaz, and, most intriguingly, Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool could be in for a chaotic summer ahead. The Reds will have to consider other options at the end of the season. And Matheus Cunha will surely be one to look out for.
