Last week in the Premier League, Liverpool faced a 3-2 defeat to Fulham away from home.
Arne Slot’s men are very close to winning this year’s Premier League title. However, Marco Silva’s side held that run in the last week after they beat the Reds by 3-2.
In the match, Liverpool boss Arne Slot brought in Conor Bradley to replace Ibrahima Konate in the 67th minute of the game. This particular act of Arne Slot sparked many questions about him.
Ibrahima Konate has just more than 12 months left in his current contract with Liverpool. That’s why he is also on the news about his future with Liverpool. The Reds will try to keep him at Anfield after his good performance this season.
However, against Fulham, his substitution by Liverpool boss Arne Slot sparked the question of his recent performances. It also raises questions such as whether Arne Slot is happy or not about the performance of Imrahima Konate.

Arne Slot explained the substitution of Konate
However, during a press conference, Arne Slot ruled out all the rumors and questions regarding him. The Dutch manager gave his answer on why he substituted Ibrahima Konate in that match. He said,
“For me, if I take him (Konate) out for another centre-back, that probably tells you that I wasn’t as happy about his game.
Or if I take Virgil [Van Dijk] out and bring another centre-back in, you could assume that he’s either injured, not fit, or I’m not so happy with the way he’s playing.
If I bring an attacker or a midfielder in, that probably tells you that I want to take more risks, and that is what has happened.
But I took him off for a player who can score a goal a bit easier than Ibou. Taking him off has nothing to do with how well he did with the ball.”
Ibrahima Konate was not good enough in that match against Marco Silva’s Fulham. But one thing is very clear, and that is the 25-year-old is definitely having the best season in his Liverpool career so far.
