Liverpool young gem Jayden Danns has been sidelined with a back injury during the pre-season making him unavailable for the West Ham game in the Carabao Cup and paving the way for Trey Nyoni for his debut.
Jayden Danns a young striker with promise will not play for Liverpool against West Ham in the Carabao Cup because of a back injury he suffered during the preseason.
Despite scoring 17 goals at the under-18 and under-21 levels last season Danns has not played yet this year losing out on a vital chance to perform well when the team travelled to the USA.
Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool legendary manager, said about Dannes:
“He has striking instincts, I have no doubt about that. There is no youth level where you don’t have that.”
But now due to injury, Arne Slot has hinted that 17-year-old Trey Nyoni will be included in the matchday squad.
Danns injury paves the way for Nyoni Liverpool debut
Nyoni who made his debut at the age of 16 has impressed during preseason training and is a symbol of Liverpool’s continued dedication to bringing up-and-coming players into the starting lineup.
Due to numerous injuries to important players including Alisson Becker and multiple attacking options Slot will probably rely on well-known players for the match against West Ham.
Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez will be important players in the attacking lineup and Federico Chiesa is anticipated to make his debut in its entirety.
Young players have historically benefited from the Carabao Cup but with many prospects loaned out or otherwise unavailable Nyoni might be the only new face in a team eager to win the championship.
Liverpool will have to deal with the difficulties of squad depth while trying to win the competition and this matchup will provide them both a challenge and an opportunity.
