Goal Keepers and Defenders
Alisson Becker (GK)- 7/10
Alisson had a reasonably easy night as his team gained control. He had nothing to do after snatching up some early loose balls.
Trent Alexander Arnold (RB)- 7.5/10
Alexander-Arnold got into the game and showed strength in his defensive work, including a big block to keep out Dusan Tadic. He was clearly told to stick to right-back duties whenever necessary.
Joe Gomez (CB)- 7.5/10
Gomez was confident and calm alongside Virgil after a dubious afternoon at Nottingham Forest. He was responding well to danger and accumulating methodically in possession.
Virgil Van Dijk (CB)- 7/10
With his straight passing play and ability to outmuscle the Ajax attack, Van Dijk was dependable at the back.
Andy Robertson (LB) – 8.5/10
Robertson was one of the few players with early comprehension of the 4-4-2 diamond formation, and the left-back only improved. Robertson was brisk and energetic from the start.
Midfielders
Fabinho (CM)- 6.5/10
Fabinho is still a concern. He was toiled as the deepest-seated midfielder, especially early on when his Ajax teammates quickly passed him.
The Brazilian played better. Moreover, it is hoped that Curtis Jones and Naby Keita’s comeback would let Klopp rotate more and take some of the weight off his No. 3.

Mo Salah’s opening goal came after a beautiful outside-of-the-boot ball by Henderson. Moreover, Hendo has shown a lot of energy in the middle of the field.
Harvey Elliott (CM)- 7.5/10
In the early going, he did his best but lacked confidence. Moreover, he eventually found his footing in a somewhat different role on the right side of the diamond. Later, he struck a goal as well.
Forwards
Roberto Firminho (CAM)- 7.5/10
Firmino could manipulate play between the lines in his natural position as the deep-dropping No. 10 before becoming more of a presence in the final third as Liverpool seized control.
Darwin Nunez (CF)- 7.5/10
While a surprising miss right before halftime, Nunez kept his record in front of the goal despite feeling conflicted as he adjusted to the diamond shape.
Mohamed Salah (CF)- 8/10
Despite the goalkeeper’s position, it was a beautiful finish for 1-0. Moreover, a great pass was used to set up Elliott’s advancement to the round of 16.

after the defeat at Forest, he got unjustified criticism but returned to form in a possession-heavy cameo.
