Roberto Firmino has sparked excitement among Liverpool fans after making a bold prediction about Jurgen Klopp’s future. The Brazilian believes his former manager will one day return to the dugout — and possibly to Anfield.

The Liverpool legend, who scored 111 goals for the Reds, shared his thoughts while reflecting on his time under Klopp and the club’s current rebuild.

Since leaving Liverpool in 2023, Klopp has taken on a new role as Global Head of Soccer for the Red Bull group, overseeing projects across Europe and the United States. But according to Firmino, the German’s passion for the touchline hasn’t faded just yet.

“He was the best manager I’ve ever had,” Firmino told Flashscore.

“The memories I still have are incredible. I’m grateful to have worked alongside him. I think he’s taking a break, I think he’s going to go back to coaching a club. Whether it’s Liverpool, only he can say.”

Could Klopp really make an Anfield comeback?

Klopp has been busy away from management, recently joining a German Football League (DFL) expert panel while also working on a new padel sports complex in Liverpool with his son, Marc. Still, the former boss hasn’t ruled out the idea of one last dance with the Reds.

Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast earlier this month, Klopp said:

“I said I would never coach another team, a different team in England. So that means if, then it’s Liverpool, yeah. Theoretically it’s possible.”

That small window of possibility was all it took for fans to dream again. Firmino’s latest comments have only fueled that fire, suggesting that Klopp’s “break” might just be the calm before another storm.

Firmino, who now plays for Al-Sadd in Qatar, also shared his faith in Liverpool’s new direction under Arne Slot.

The Brazilian praised the team’s recent signings, including Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, saying they have “the hunger to become historic players for the club.”

Having been part of one of Liverpool’s most iconic attacking trios with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané, Firmino knows what it takes to succeed at Anfield — and his words carry weight among fans still dreaming of another Klopp era.

Whether Klopp ever returns to the Liverpool dugout remains uncertain, but as Firmino hinted, never say never in football — especially when it comes to a love story like this one.
