As per multiple reports, Jurgen Klopp has apparently told Liverpool owners to try to sign Nicolo Barella this summer, who is said to cost around €80m.

As per InterLive, Klopp is a huge admirer of the Italian and has asked FSG to make an effort to sign him this summer. This report states that Klopp is ‘constantly’ speaking about Barella behind the scenes at Liverpool.

As we head towards the business end of the season, the Reds must try and sign a few players. More specifically players in the midfield position as Klopp looks to rebuild his strategy for the middle of the park in the next season.

The Reds’ boss has been targeting the Inter man for quite a while now and there would be no surprise as to why. The 26-year-old is one of the best in his position. Also, he has his stakes risen by winning the Euros with Italy.

Moreover, he has been instrumental in this season’s Inter’s UCL run, which has seen them book a ticket in the final. The Nerazzuri would be playing against Man City at Istanbul, the next month for their second European title.

Nicolo Barella might just be what Liverpool needs

Barella truly is a midfielder who can do it all. He’s full of energy, he’s great on the ball and he’s afraid of absolutely nobody. The Italian is technically brilliant and could be an answer to Liverpool’s midfield problems surely.

Moreover, ex-Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher has even gone on to describe the player to be ‘one of the best in Europe.’

He has played 182 times for the Nerazzuri and has 19 goals and 43 assists. The former Cagliari player is versatile and could operate in a number of positions. Be it a number 8, a number 6, or even a deep-lying midfielder, he could do it all with grace.

Surely his asking price would shoot up with him competing in the UCL finals. Moreover, if he wins the Champions League, it would take a lot of persuading. Klopp’s project would need to be exciting for him to make a move to Anfield.

He would currently cost around €80m, which is a lot of money. But considering the caliber, there shouldn’t be any surprises.
