Premier League referee David Coote has become a subject of investigation by PGMOL after a video of him putting Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp in a bad light surfaced up on the internet.
The English referee, who has been refereeing in the PL since April 2019, was spotted in a video posted X (formerly Twitter) saying vile things about the Reds and the German tactician after the infamous 7-2 loss to Aston Villa back in October 2020.
In this video, Coote was asked a series of questions and replying to how he felt about the match, he said,
“Liverpool were s***.”
Speaking about Klopp, the 42-year-old said,
“C***. Absolute c***.
Aside from having a right pop at me when I reffed them against Burnley in lockdown, then he accused me of lying then just had a right f***ing pop at me, I’ve got no interest in speaking to someone who’s f***ing arrogant.
I do my best not to speak to him. Milner’s alright, I get on with Milner. But my god, German c***, f*** me.”
Coote referred to a photo shown on his phone of Klopp subbing in Milner in the same match.

There is also another separate video where he stated that the video must not be shown anywhere.
“Just to be clear, that f***ing last video can’t go anywhere. Seriously.”
Although there are chances of videos being produced by AI nowadays, PGMOL is investigating the case. If this offense is proven to be true, there can be severe punishment for the Englishman.
He first officiated a Liverpool game in the Klopp era in December 2015, in which LFC won 1-0 over Leicester City. Coote also refereed the latest game of the Merseysiders against Aston Villa.
The English referee has officiated many Liverpool games and this video raises question on whether all the past jobs were full proof and unbiased.
