Pep Guardiola tips PL manager for big move after Man Utd and Liverpool links
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is convinced that Brentford manager Thomas Frank is destined for a “big” move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
After City narrowly defeated Brentford 2-1 in a tough Premier League clash, Guardiola couldn’t help but sing Frank’s praises, leaving fans to wonder if Frank could one day be leading one of the Premier League’s giants—perhaps even Liverpool.
Frank’s future looking bright as per Pep Guardiola
City may have won the game, but Guardiola admitted his team was lucky to escape with all three points after a dominant start from Brentford.
Erling Haaland’s two goals saved the day, but the performance from Thomas Frank’s side left a lasting impression on Guardiola.
When asked about Frank’s future, Guardiola didn’t hold back, saying, “It is just a question of time. I’m good in a few things, one of which is reading when the manager is good. It is going to happen.”
Frank, always a class act, responded with humility to Guardiola’s glowing comments. “First, thank you for that, Pep – it is always nice,” said Frank. While happy at Brentford, he hinted that a bigger challenge might be on the horizon, stating, “Maybe one day I will try something new.”
Liverpool fans will recall Frank being linked with the club in the past, especially after Jurgen Klopp’s announced of leaving the club.
While the Reds eventually chose Arne Slot, Frank’s stock is only rising, and Guardiola’s latest comments will surely add fuel to the speculation.
Brentford stung City
Brentford didn’t make it easy for City. Yoane Wissa’s early goal had Brentford buzzing, and Guardiola admitted his team struggled. “I don’t remember in eight or nine years a team that plays the way like Brentford did in the first 20 minutes,” Guardiola said, adding, “They deserve to be 0-2 or 0-3 up.”
With Liverpool looking to strengthen their leadership in the coming years, could Frank be a future option to lead the Reds? For now, it’s all just talk, but one thing is certain—Thomas Frank is one to watch.
