Liverpool star defender set to miss three matches after shock Incident

Owen Beck, Liverpool’s young left-back, is facing a three-match ban after being involved in a bizarre and serious incident during Blackburn Rovers’ 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Sunday.

The drama unfolded in the final moments of a heated Lancashire derby that took an unexpected twist.

Owen Beck sees red, but was he bitten?

The Liverpool loanee, currently playing for Blackburn, was shown a red card after an altercation with Preston’s Duane Holmes.

As tempers flared, a scuffle broke out, and it appeared that Preston’s forward Milutin Osmajic took the derby intensity to another level by biting Beck on the neck. Yes, you read that right – a bite!

Beck, clearly in disbelief, protested his innocence to the officials before being sent off. However, his red card stands, and he’s now set to miss Blackburn’s next three matches. Meanwhile, the FA is likely to review the footage, and Osmajic could be in serious trouble if the bite is confirmed.

Blackburn boss John Eustace weighed in after the game, telling Sky Sports (via Lancashire Telegrap): “You can see from the TV pictures that the kid has taken a big chunk out of his neck… That’s part of being in the derby, I suppose.”

He further added, “Owen’s got a big bite mark on the back of his neck. It’s a serious incident, and nobody likes to be bitten. He’s shaken up about it.”

While Beck might be out of action for a few games, this derby-day drama is sure to be talked about for a while.
