The Scousers are excited to see some big players join Liverpool during this transfer window. Because of Fabrizio Romano’s most recent transfer announcement, Liverpool supporters who were hoping to see Konrad Laimer join Jürgen Klopp at Anfield will now be let down.
Liverpool were supposed to sign the player from RB Leipzig. However, things aren’t going as planned as Fabrizio Romano hinted at a failed signing of Konrad Laimer to Liverpool.
Bayern Munich to beat Liverpool for Konrad Laimer
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are interested in signing the Austrian international from RB Leipzig. Given that the midfield guru’s contract expires at the conclusion of the current campaign and that he has already claimed to be a Reds fan, a deal appeared quite simple to execute.
Laimer:
“I generally like watching the Premier League. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.”
It is now necessary for Klopp and Julian Ward to start again since Bayern Munich signed the 25-year-old before Liverpool did. Konrad Laimer is expected to formally join the Bavarians on July 1 when his RB Leipzig contract expires, according to Romano, who claims that Laimer has “finally signed his deal” with the German powerhouses.
This is particularly disappointing for Liverpool since, given his contract status, the Austrian appeared to be the most viable alternative to bolster the midfield this month. The Athletic believes that Fenway Sports Group is trying to sell Liverpool, so until that sale is completed, they can’t see significant investments being made to strengthen the midfield on a more costly alternative.
Bajcetic vs Wolves
It’s interesting to note that after Stefan Bajcetic‘s outstanding display against Wolves, the need for a new midfielder has somewhat subsided. The Spaniard has advanced quickly since making the first squad, and he displayed great play in midfield with Thiago as Liverpool defeated Molineux 1-0.
Of course, midfield reinforcements will still be required, but if Bajcetic can maintain this level of performance for the remainder of the season, Klopp may be able to postpone making new acquisitions until the summer.
