Seeded and non-seeded were the two categories for teams once the qualifying round ended. Senegal and Egypt were then drawn as seeded and non-seeded teams, respectively.

Salah pitted against Mane for a place in World Cup 2022

Both the countries won their respective qualifying group stages. Both the countries have also made it into the second round of this year’s AFCON.

However, now we will only get to see one of these superstars in World Cup 2022.

Both the countries qualified for the 2018 edition of the World Cup, but failed to make it out of the group stage.

For Liverpool fans, this is going to be an intriguing international break. We will get to see two of the team’s star fighting each other for a place on the biggest stage in world football.

However, the pair are not the only Liverpool players fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Andy Robertson, Diogo Jota and Neco Williams will also be fighting for a place.

On the other hand, Takumi Minamino still has work to finish with Japan. His journey will continue in the upcoming January/February international break.

As of now, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah are busy in the AFCON. Both have made into the round of 16, despite being below par for their countries.

However, Naby Keita, who has been the best of the trio, will miss Guinea’s game in the Round of Sixteen.

Meanwhile, It is going to be an exciting international break as a trip to Qatar will be up for grab.
