Liverpool striker Paul Glatzel who is currently on loan to Tranmere Rovers, has met with yet another ‘horrific’ injury. But this time, ending his season prematurely.

It’s not the first or second time he is facing such a setback at Tranmere Rovers, but this will be his 6th time.

With a history of injuries since breaking into the scene, this one could probably be more hurting “mentally” as well.

A painful return for the Liverpool striker after injury

The striker started for Tranmere Rovers for the first time in nearly a month, in their 3-2 win against Mansfield.

The player was subbed off 55 minutes into the game and later it was understood that he suffered a hamstring injury. Thus unfortunately putting an end to his season, where he still remains Tranmere’s highest goal scorer.

The Manager’s Verdict

While speaking to The BBC Radio (Merseyside), this is what the Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon had to say,

Paul Glatzel’s season is over,

He’s done now, so that’s devastating for the lad and a big blow for us, because he gave us something different.

But he’ll still be a part of what we’re doing, get his treatment over at Liverpool and come in and support the lads.

He’ll still very much a big part of what we’re doing here and we want to keep him involved for as long as possible.

Paul Glatzel’s future at Tranmere Rovers

With having played over 21 games for the Rovers this season and scoring six goals he surely is a crucial ‘cog in the wheel’ for them.

Mellon’s continued backing for the young striker could potentially attempt to secure a permanent deal to Rovers in the summer.

Well, given the history of him rising from setbacks the fans of Liverpool could only wish for his speedy recovery.
